Welcome, and thank you for visiting Healing Space
I became a therapist after experiencing adversity in my own life and then overcoming it through encountering a healing journey of my own. I trained in bereavement to begin with, then, after qualifying as an Integrative Therapist, I worked in the addiction field until I undertook my degree, specialising in childhood trauma and the effects of. I have also worked with traumatised Police Officers in a fast-paced service.
There is no greater feeling than sitting with someone and watching them heal from the things they believed would hinder them for life. Because I am an integrative therapist, I use different techniques based on the individual’s needs.
During the first session, you can expect to have an open and non-judgmental conversation with me. I will ask you questions to better understand your background, reasons for seeking therapy, and your goals for your healing process. I will inquire about your personal history, current challenges, and any previous experience with therapy. Based on the information you provide, I will use an integrative approach to develop a treatment plan that is specific to your needs. This will involve drawing from various therapeutic modalities and techniques to create a customised approach that suits you best.
How I Work
I tend to work more relationally when addressing childhood trauma as I have a deep understanding of the importance of the therapeutic relationship in healing. Building a strong and trusting connection with clients greatly supports the therapeutic process. The collaborative nature of therapy, means that both myself and the client play active roles.
The Initial Session
The first session will primarily focus on gathering information and establishing a foundation for the therapeutic journey ahead. It also provides an opportunity for you to assess whether I am a good fit for you, as it is essential to feel comfortable and confident in your therapeutic relationship.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling and whether I am the right therapist to help.
I offer a free 15-minute online consultation to see if we are suited to each other.
I'm recognised by AXA Health, Allianz Worldwide Care, Aviva and WPA.
Sessions are weekly and run for 50 minutes, fees start from £80 - £150.
I use bank transfer and can accept cash.
